Announcing the Spring 2022 Power Rankings

The Spring 2022 Season of the SSBQ Circuit was one rollercoaster of a ride. Many upsets were seen, titans have fallen and new champions have risen from the ashes. From a pool of 151 Players across 11 tournaments, we bring you the best 15 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate players in Qatar.

1st - $BK

To say $BK’s performance was dominant this season would be an understatement. $BK, by a large margin, has shown the best performance over the course of the Spring 2022 Season of the circuit, only ever dropping sets to Xaiop and Crono locally, both of which $BK holds a positive record against this season. A total of seven first place finishes, a single top 3 finish, and a top 8 finish at the Virtuocity Smash Open, $BK has earned this spot as number one on the SSBQ Power Rankings.

2nd - Xaiop

The best Robin main in the Middle East has made waves in the Qatari circuit this season. We have seen Xaiop regularly place second at most tournaments, occasionally nabbing himself the gold against $BK. We have seen this player make many strides in his gameplay as he constantly pushes for excellence, and we wanna see him push further and secure the gold in the next season of the circuit.

3rd - Magician

Moving on up in the world, we have a new name within the Top 3, Magician’s Hero is an absolute miracle worker. Every local tournament Magician has joined he has always ranked within the Top 8, never less. We have seen him a handful of times achieve a Top 3 finish as well. Magician has rightfully earned this spot in the SSBQ Power Ranking, and we hope to see him push himself even further beyond on a local and regional level.

4th - iHasoon

iHasoon has been a player who has shown a lot of discipline towards the game. The practice, consistency, and new approach to the game has been apparent from iHasoon. This player has shown his ability to bring down titans this season, including Crono, GuTs, and Magician. We love to see our local players take the game more seriously and approach practicing with more discipline, we would not be surprised to see this player very soon regularly competing for a spot in the Top 3.

5th - Dawn

Dawn has been trending up since last season. We regularly see Dawn place no less than 4th at local tournaments. A fierce competitor and a player who will do everything it takes to bring his opponents down in game, Dawn is a monster you do not want to face in bracket. Dawn has what it takes to be a champion, and with more time invested in the game, we would not be surprised to see him in that spot.

7th - AMM

Much like iHasoon, AMM’s new disciplined approach towards the game has been paying off. Consistently getting Top 8 and even finishing within the Top 6/4, AMM has proven himself to be a fierce competitor. Although he trended down towards the end of the season, we would not be surprised to see this solo Greninja player finish within the Top 5 at the next season of the SSBQ Circuit.

6th - GuTs

Tekken & Smash Bros. legend, GuTs has had a phenomenal record this season. A top 3 finish at a local and multitudes of Top 8s, GuTs has what it takes to compete for the title of best Steve in the GCC. GuTs has been attending more Smash tournaments as of late and we love to see that, and we hope to see him continue pushing what his character can do, and give our players a run for their money.

8th - DmaR

Supposedly retired from competing, he has joined enough tournaments over the course of the season to finish within the Top 10 players in Qatar. DmaR is a strong competitor who will give everyone above him a serious run for their money. His return to the scene is exciting and we love to see him competing both on the local and regional level.

9th - Sage

Sage is a player who strives for greatness. He has what it takes to bring down titans, and he’s almost there, but just needs a slight push. Sage is a dark horse to make it into Top 3/8 at every tournament. Even if the numbers may not prove it, we assure you that his skill most certainly does.

10th - TheArabSamurai

A definite wildcard in the top 10, the resident Ganon main regularly gatekeeps the Top 8 of the SSBQ Circuit. Finishing mostly 9ths with a handful of Top 8 finishes. The solo Ganon main has made the impossible happen with a low tier character. Despite chaining himself and trying to make the impossible happen, who knows what is to come of this player in the future and if he will be able to keep this spot in the ranking.

11th - CrimsonMooN

One of our other wildcard players, the solo Isabelle main has been capable of bringing down titans at the local circuit. Consistently showing major improvements in his gameplay, as well as giving players a serious run for their money. Our resident Isabelle player is more than capable of bringing down even the regional threats. We love to see this player coming out to tournaments and we hope to see even more greatness coming out of him soon.

12th - Pizza

We are not used to seeing our esteemed Pikachu player place this low typically, while his results are just a little bit underwhelming, we are confident in saying that this player can certainly turn his results around and produce the numbers are used to seeing from him. Pizza is a legend and a long time competitor in the SSBQ Circuit, and we are confident to say that we can see him bounce back and fight fiercely for a spot in the Top 10 of the SSBQ Circuit.

13th - Quasar

A newcomer from last season, Quasar has taken a backseat from competing as life has gotten in the way. As a result, he has been competing less, with that being said, he is still a strong competitor in his own right and has managed to nab himself a place in the Power Ranking once more.

14th - Emperor

A new name in the rankings, Emperor has been practicing for a very long time to earn a spot in the rankings. With numerous 9th place finishes, just shy of top 8, this Luigi main went out with a bang at the last tournament finishing at an all-time high of 5th with a big upset against AMM. We can’t wait to see this player push for every further beyond.

15th - HamoodX

Our resident tournament organizer and coach have earned his spot back in the rankings. With a surprise upset at the end against iHasoon, HamoodX has shown time and time again his skill, prowess, and knowledge at the game. We are certain that this player can make it even higher in our rankings.
